the meaning of "Pam"

1. Pam
Pams tend to be very outgoing, long haired , funny people. They can always make you smile and are the kind of friends that you can never get mad at. And of course Pams are the type of people you can tell all your problems to! :]
THIS IS SO TRUE

pamala (my proper name)

1. A name given to a female's menstrual cycle
2. A woman's period
3. When someone is not themselves and making everyone around them upset
1. Ahh! Pamala's here!
2. Can you please stop bitching and yelling! Gosh Pamala must be here!
3. Chill out! Don't yell at me like your pamala is here!
Damn, what a sucky definition that is!
THERE IS STILL ONLY ONE DAMNPAMN!

"Oh yes I can!"

I used to be a parts runner. One time I walked into a dealership to order the whole passenger side of a Firebird - bumper to bumper. The partsman was on the phone placing an order when I walked in. In fact he was on the phone for a very long time placing the order. While I was waiting for him to get off the phone another man came in.

When he got off the phone he waited on the man who came in after me - even though I waited a substantial amount of time before that guy even came in the store. Then another customer came in and the parts guy waited on him too. When you deal with partsmen you have to deal with sexism alot and I continued to wait because I was desperate for those parts.

Finally he came to me and I tell him I want to order the entire passenger side of a Firebird from bumper to bumper and I give him the year. He went through his book and made up my order and it came to over $3000.00. I told him that is fine and when he found out who I worked for he knew it was OK.

Then he told me that it was too late to place my order (even though he placed the two men's orders in front of me) and that I will have to wait a week for him to place the order and it will be another week for the order to come in. I told him that I would like for him to VIP the order. (A VIP order is an overnight order and at that time it only cost $10.00 more - a bargain for what I was doing!) He tells me that he couldn't VIP the order and that I was going to have to wait just like he told me to in the first place!

I looked at him and told him to cancel the order. He said, "you can't do that!"

So I told him to either VIP the order (something I did all the time) or cancel it - that I didn't have time to wait for the parts like he wanted me to. He said to me that he wouldn't do it and I wouldn't have any choice but to wait.

Here is what I told him then. "Oh yes I can! Cancel the order. I am going to drive one hour to the next Pontiac Dealership. I am going to place the order and they WILL VIP the order for me. I WILL have the parts tomorrow and the car WILL be in the sale on Wednesday! A full 2 weeks ahead of what you are telling me you are willing to do!"

Then he told me "OK, I will see what I can do." (he knew he was screwed!)

I told him "don't worry about it. I wanted to go to Logan to see my mom tonight anyway."

I turned around and walked out the door with my $3000.00 order (which he had prepared by the way.) I took it to Logan and ordered the parts. (the parts guy there loved it because he didn't have to look anything up.) I got the parts the next day and the car was sold the next Wednesday just like I told the guy it would be.

Robbery Aftermath

Tina quit today. She is the cashier that had the gun stuck right in her face.

I went to my dr. The stress was causing me to have chest pain. I am now on medication for PTSD.

I talked to Anna. She was up front with me during the robbery. I need to tell her how strong I thought she was and I keep forgetting. I WILL let her know. She is still dealing and trying to stay strong. We both feel that we can only be truely honest with each other. Other employees who weren't there are starting to say we should be over it by now. They don't understand. Even more employees who weren't there are feeling guilty because they feel they should have been there.

I tell people "it is what it is. Do your best and move on."

The man is being held without bond.

The woman has a 1/2 million dollar cash bond set.

More on Thong Bikinis

When I lived in West Palm they were having a big debate about making thong bikinis illegal. This was when the hotdog girls were selling hotdogs on the corner wearing nothing but thongs and . (they may still be doing it, I have been gone for years now!)

Anyway I told my friend Carolyn that we could settle the debate in 5 minutes. "Let's go out and put on a thong and walk down the block! Thongs will be illegal before we get to the end of the street!

Of course we didn't do it and they are still legal! There is more than one way to do the world a favor, my public could be just the ticket.

Dwayne's First Trip to the Beach

I had a nephew named Dwayne. He was raised up a hollow in Boone County and had none of the advantages of life. Bobby and I used to take him and do things with him but when we moved to Florida we only saw him in the summer. We brought him to Florida one summer and we took him for his first trip to the beach. He was 12 years old.

We were having a ball with him and enjoying all the things you enjoy with a child who has never been to the beach before. He was afraid to go past the foam that the waves had strewn across the beach at first. He would tippy toe through in laughing delightedly. We played in the sand and slowly built his confidence up so that he could go into the ocean with one of us after awhile.

Bobby went to get us some snacks and while he was gone Dwayne and I were lounging on our beach blankets when I saw a man coming in the distance. As he got closer I saw it was a man of 50 or 60 years of age and he was wearing a speedo. He had a big, pot belly and in no way had any business wearing such skimpy beach attire but I didn't pay too much attention until I saw Dwayne staring quite obviously at the man. Dwayne had never been to a public pool, much less the beach, and he didn't quite know what to think about a man dressed like that in public. I whispered to him to not stare because it was not polite and I tried to distract him.

I was doing fine with my little distractions until the man walked past us. Not only was he wearing a speedo but he was wearing a THONG SPEEDO! Dwayne saw the man's big, fat, hairy buttcheeks and he lost it. He laid down on the beach roaring with laughter and pointing at the man. I moved to try to calm the child and to stop his very loud, public display of mirth at the man's choice of attire (or lack of it). THERE WAS NO STOPPING HIM. He laughed and rolled and pointed and I desperately stepped up my attempts to stop him because you just never know how somebody will react to someone so obviously (and deservedly) making fun of them.

The man walked about 100 feet past us and then he turned around and he was obviously enraged. As he stalked toward us glaring and ready to tell me and Dwayne off at the bare minimum, I could do nothing but beg Dwayne to stop laughing. It was an awful situation to be in. When he got about 20 feet from us, all of a sudden he turned around and walked away. I was so relieved. I guess he saw that he was dealing with a woman and a child and maybe, just maybe, he may have realized he deserved Dwayne's reaction to that tiny, little thong he was wearing.

Later as I tried to explain to Dwayne that you just don't react to people like that in public. He would just exclaim, "but did you see his butt, Aunt Pam!" I don't think I ever got across to him how much danger we were possibly in.
