It was in a little pile of stuff that was left after one of the residents of Lee Terrace died. I won't divulge his name even though it probably wouldn't matter. What I can tell you about him is that he was a godly man who worked hard and appreciated any chance to get ahead.
I also learned that May, 1954 was the coldest May on record in West Virginia to that point in time.
I find it interesting that all that is left of a man when he is gone is a little pile of trash including a long forgotten diary.
It is probably the same thing that will happen to me. It goes to show, you can't take it with you. Not that I have anything to take anyway.
