It's Been a Good Week

I've been too busy to get on the computer. Anytime that happens I count it as a plus. My nephew called me at work on Monday. He wanted to take me to dinner, so we went to Golden Corral on Tuesday. I hesitated because I know what Golden Corral does to my sodium levels - I only had 2 heaping plates of food - a record for me! He and I have a long history of Golden Corral get togethers and I just didn't have the hear to change it. He is all grown up and this is the first time I ever allowed him to buy my dinner.

My nephew and I had a lovely visit. It has been awhile since I have seen him. He's all grown up and too busy for Aunt Pam. Such is life. Hopefully it won't be so long until I see him the next time.

Then on Wednesday my Great Aunt and Uncle, Patty and Gerald, invited me over for a joint birthday for both myself and their son, Tim. We had a wonderful steak dinner, once again loaded down with too much salt. They gave me a computer and $40 and a wonderful homemade card that I will scan as soon as I have access to the scanner again.

I had just finished losing the 10 lbs. that I gained over my ACTUAL birthday. Now I have to do it all over again. That's another 3 weeks down the tubes with me sticking to my low sodium diet like it's "do or die".

On Sunday, Eddie loaned me $20 dollars so I could go to Shoe Carnival and get some of the Crocs that were on sale. I knew they wouldn't have my size until payday so I got to get 2 pair for $16.50 a piece. That's outrageous for Crocs but I can't get any other shoe on my gargantually swollen feet. I have never paid over $7 for a pair of generic Crocs but I haven't been able to find my size for over a year now and the ones I have are looking pretty rough. They are past washing to make them look better. So, now I am the proud owner of a pink pair and a black pair. I'll be keeping my eye out for another sale in a couple of months.

Patty and Gerald also gave me some food to distribute in the building. This is the umpteenth time they have done this. One of the residents left me a lovely note on my door today thanking me for the food. I will be forwarding it to Patty and Gerald so they can see their generosity is appreciated.

Did Ya Ever Make Snow Ice Cream?

You mix a little snow and a little cream and a little sugar.

It's quite tasty.
